Teen Charged With DUI After Crash
A teen was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol Sunday by the Florida Highway Patrol following a vehicle accident, the FHP reported Wednesday.
Kayla G., 19, Mayo, was arrested for DUI, failure to use due care and failure to use a seatbelt.
According to the FHP, Kayla was traveling south on Sunny Oaks Road around 1:20 a.m. at CR 300 at an unsafe speed in a 1994 Ford pickup. The Ford rounded a curve and left the road onto the right shoulder where it struck a fence with its right front. The Ford continued traveling south where it struck a tree with its right front. The Ford then crossed a driveway and struck a second fence before coming to a final rest.
Kayla, nor passenger Preston P., 21, Mayo, suffered any injuries, the FHP reported.
Preston was also charged with failure to use a seatbelt, the FHP reported.
Although a DUI charge is already a serious offense, Kayla is fortunate she wasn’t charged with property damage, as well. However, she would still be well advised, along with anyone else who has recently been charged with DUI, in contacting a Brevard County DUI attorney at Musca Law right now.
